Looking at Claris Through the Stained Glass’
A 5ft by 5ft City and Guild’s certificate quilt. An original pattern was produced from a piece of pottery designed by Clarice Cliff and translated into traditional black bias binding stained glass patchwork to create the centre medallion. The outer border is crazy patchwork embellished with black machine embroidery to continue the stained glass theme. The back is a pieced variation of traditional log cabin pattern.
